Pixx, new singing to label 4AD, shows more than just a smattering of promise in her gorgeous new track ‘Fall In’.
It’s not folk, it’s not pop, it’s not indie: it is honest self-expression done with a voice so natural it has no need for ostentation, and a production style as experimental – with its lofi flavour, wobbling chords and understated tract of exploratory beats – as it is warm and homely. You can watch the video for the track, directed by The Marshall Darlings, below.
Speaking about the news the 19 year old music maker from Chipstead, Surrey, says: “It’s incredible to be welcomed with open arms to a label that is home to so many artists that have influenced me over the years.” It’s taken as the title track from upcoming debut EP, Fall In, due out on 28th August.
